Mehmood Khan Achakzai Speech regarding Bugti Killing Part 1

'India is responsible for Balochistan unrest'

LONDON: Former president Pervez Musharraf said that the Indian government is responsible for creating unrest in Baochistan, while speaking to Munizae Jahangir during an interview on the Express 24/7 programme ‘Face Off’ in London.

Musharraf reiterated his earlier claims that Indian and Afghan involvement in Balochistan was creating unrest there, adding that the Pakistani government had solid evidence of their involvement and that the evidence had been shared with everyone. “Even (Afghan) President Karzai has been given (the evidence),” he said.

Musharraf said the military operation against Nawab Akbar Bugti was justified as he had been creating trouble in Balochistan. “There is a person who is firing 500 rockets on Sui. There is a person who has occupied the hill features and is firing rockets and weapons… on the Frontier Corps. They are blowing up the gas pipeline, the electric pylon, the railway line”.

He said that Nawab Akbar Bugti’s grandson, Bramdagh Bugti is received by agents from the Indian intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), when he goes to India. “I know that they finance him, they give him weapons to create trouble and stab us in the back in Balochistan.”

While talking about the ongoing probe on the murder of Benazir Bhutto, he said that the three people named by Benazir Bhutto in her letter before she was assassinated were not behind her killing.

“I knew about Pervaiz Elahi and Ejaz Shah, they were very responsible people and I know they wouldn’t be planning to kill her, I mean, it would be utterly stupid of them to do that. Hamid Gul is a man who… always uses his ex-intelligence connections a lot and I know that he hated her. But I don’t know whether he was planning an assassination.”

When asked if there were ex-intelligence people involved in Benazir’s murder, he said that he did not know.

The first part of the interview will air today (Friday) at 8pm in Pakistan.

WikiLeaks: Pakistan condemns 'irresponsible disclosure'

FO spokesperson Abdul Basit said the documents were being examined.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, on Monday, condemned the release of what the New York Times called a quarter of a million confidential American diplomatic cables released by whistleblower WikiLeaks, as an “irresponsible disclosure of sensitive official documents”.

The foreign office said it had been offically informed of the leaks by the US government in advance.

“At this stage we are examining the relevant documents and their contents,” ministry spokesman Abdul Basit told AFP when asked about the Times report.

The leaked cables revealed that the US has led top secret efforts to remove highly enriched uranium from Pakistan for years, worried it could be used to make an “illicit” nuclear device.

In May 2009, it quoted then US ambassador Anne Patterson as saying that Pakistan was refusing to schedule a visit by American technical experts. The Times attributed the reason to a nameless Pakistani official who said: “If the local media got word of the fuel removal, ‘they certainly would portray it as the United States taking Pakistan’s nuclear weapons’”. Islamabad has been adamant that its nuclear weapons are in safe hands and US President Barack Obama has publicly concurred. But the Times said the leaked documents showed the United States trying to remove the uranium from a research reactor, fearing it could be diverted for use in an “illicit nuclear device”. The newspaper did not elaborate on how the United States had sought to remove the uranium or the nature of any such device. Experts estimate that Pakistan already has up to 100 nuclear weapons.

The United States has longstanding concerns about proliferation from Pakistan and is reported to have set up an elite squad that could fly into the country and attempt to secure its weapons should the government disintegrate.

Wikileaks Cablegate: Iran saw Pakistan as a nuclear-weapons competitor says Lavrov

Lavrov commended the new U.S. approach to Iran, welcoming President Obama’s readiness for the U.S. to engage “fully” in talks with Iran. Willingness to discuss “all” the issues was a welcome step, and one which Russia had been advocating for several years, Lavrov said. Iran wielded a lot of influence in the region, including on Afghanistan, Iraq, Hizbollah, Hamas, Gaza, etc. Iran had long been
concerned about Israel, and saw Pakistan as a nuclear-weapons competitor. Putin had asked Ahmadinejad during a meeting in Tehran a few years before why he made such anti-Israeli statements, but Ahmadinejad had not responded, only saying that Iran was “not doing anything in the nuclear sphere different from Brazil.” Putin had replied that Brazil was not in the Middle East. While Iran wanted to dominate the region and the Islamic world, which was of concern to Arab governments, the U.S. should realize that the “Arab Street”
considers Iranian leaders to be heroes.

Pakistan terms WikiLeaks reports on Pak-Saudi relations ‘extremely negative, misleading’

ISLAMABAD, Nov 29 (APP): Pakistan on Monday said it considered the “extremely negative reports” carried on Pakistan-Saudi relations attributed to WikiLeaks as “misleading and contrary to facts”. “It is quite evident that these mischievous reports reveal the utter inadequacy of the author to grasp the essence of the Pakistan-Saudi relationship,” Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit responded to the WikiLeaks documents that revealed on Sunday. The spokesman said Pakistan enjoys a very special and unique relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that Pakistani leadership, government and the people held the leadership and the people of Saudi Arabia not only in very high esteem but as true friends and brothers.

He mentioned that Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the Royal family and the people of Saudi Arabia always stood by Pakistan.
Basit said the national and international press carried excerpts from documents brought to public light by WikiLeaks, and said these documents reportedly pertained to official communications within the US government system.
He said the U.S had alerted Pakistan to the unauthorized leaks.
“Since these leaks are in the public domain, we would obviously look at these closely with a view to ensuring that Pakistan’s national interest are not compromised in any manner. However, we are not in the position to comment on the veracity of U.S internal documents.”
The spokesman said Pakistan was an advanced nuclear technology state and no one could touch Pakistan’s nuclear facilities and assets.
He said the reports concerning Pakistan’s experimental nuclear reactor acknowledged that Pakistan did not allow any transfer of the fuel from the experimental reactor.
He said this experimental reactor was installed in the mid-60s with the support of the United States (U.S) which also initially provided the fuel for this facility. The U.S suggestion to have the fuel transferred was plainly refused by Pakistan.
He said the suggestion that the reactor was producing highly enriched uranium was completely incorrect.

Indian Paper Fighter Planes- MiG disaster

The Indian “Air-Power”:

  • Indian Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), continues to falter even after 25 years
  • World Record: 500th Flying coffin crashes
  • More Duds: The fiasco of the IAFs Mig 29s
The Indian Air Force has ‘grounded’ its fleet of over 100 MiG-27 ground attack fighters for mandatory checks following a fatal crash in West Bengal last week.

A senior IAF official said the aircraft would not be taking part in the Air Force’s biggest ever fire power display, Vayu Shakti-2010, aimed at highlighting its operational and precision strike capabilities by day, dusk and night at the Pokhran ranges on February 28.

The IAF has lost 12 MiG-27 fighter planes since January 2001.
IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal PV Naik said the latest MiG-27 crash might have been caused by a failure of the low-pressure turbine blades.

Asked if the combat maneouvres were aimed at sending a message to Pakistan, he said, “Our demonstration is intended to tell the people of our country, the capability of the IAF, its skills and strategic reach to protect the skies and national interest.”

In yet another crash in IAF, a MiG-21 fighter jet went down near Bagdogra in West Bengal minutes after take-off on Friday afternoon. The pilot, fortunately, managed to eject safely.

While the court of inquiry will establish the exact reason behind the crash, which comes soon after a MiG-27 pilot was killed after his fighter crashed near the Hashimara airbase on Tuesday, preliminary reports said `a technical snag’ led to the accident on Friday.

“The pilot, Squadron Leader Rahul Tiwari, had taken off from Bagdogra airbase on the MiG-21 but within minutes, at about 3.40 pm, reported trouble in the aircraft and ejected,” said an official.

Though some years ago there was a remarkable turnaround in IAF’s high crash rate, which earlier saw over 700 crashes since 1970, killing around 180 pilots and scores of civilians on the ground, a spate of crashes has taken place in recent months.

The aging MiG variants, which constitute the bulk of India’s combat fleet, have of course been the main culprits. The single-engined MiG-21s, in particular, have a horrifying track-record. Of the 793 MiG-21s inducted into IAF since 1963, over 340 have been lost in accidents.

Coupled with the several design limitations in MiG-21s due to their 1960s and 1970s vintage, this was due to shoddy maintenance, poor quality control of spares and inadequate training to rookie pilots. IAF, on its part, is now progressively phasing out older MiG-21 variants like Type-77, Type-96 and Type-75 Bis. On the other hand, it has gone in for an upgrade of 125 MiG-21s into `Bisons’, which will be operated till at least 2020.

An icon of India, Agra's Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, who created the mausoleum in honor of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Since then, it has survived the rise and fall of empires and remains one of India’s most popular destinations.

Miami
Miami really has it all: a tropical climate, a glamorous, diverse population — and it was ranked one of the cleanest cities in America by Forbes magazine in 2008. Another interesting fact: Miami is one of the few major U.S. cities founded by a woman, Julia Tuttle.

São Paulo
Emperor Pedro I declared Brazil's independence from Portugal in the city of São Paolo in 1822. Since then, the city’s population has grown to more than 18 million, and includes one of the world’s largest Japanese communities outside of Japan.

Grand Canyon
With more than 5 million visitors each year, this World Heritage Site in Arizona is home to several major ecosystems, but only seven land crossings of the Colorado River for 750 miles. Navajo Bridge, above, is one of them.

Boston
The Puritans called it their “shining city on a hill.” Today, it’s known to many as the “Athens of America.” A city of firsts, Boston is home to the nation’s first public library, one of its first universities and its first subway system — not to mention Fenway Park.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Air-conditioned beaches, sailboat-silhouette d skyscrapers and islands shaped like palm trees: If you can imagine it, Dubai likely has it — or is building it. The Dubai Marina is the second largest man-made marina in the world, but it's working toward becoming its largest.

Provence
This carpet of purple finery provides more than just a pretty landscape. Lavender is used for cooking, cleaning, healing and a host of other things. You don’t have to travel to France to find world-class herbs; you can grow them in your own back yard. Still, it’s no wonder that celebrities, monarchs, epicures and plain old tourists flock to this part of France like moths to a light.

Death Valley
These majestic waves of sand span an area in California and Nevada known to have the lowest elevation in North America. But Death Valley is more than just desert and heat — it’s also home to the Devil’s Hole pupfish, a tiny fish that can be found only in a 92 degree Fahrenheit pool in this park.

London

Bavaria
Bavarian King Ludwig II would come to be known as the “Fairy Tale King” for building this ornate castle, which has since become one of Germany’s most popular tourist attractions. From high on its perch, the castle overlooks a part of Germany famous for its castles, mountains, forests — and beer.

Turkey
The name of this place — Travertine Pools — means “cotton castle” in Turkish. The pools are made of travertine, a kind of limestone deposited by evaporating water from the hot springs, and visitors have been coming to soak in them since at least 200 BC.

Spain
Legend has it that visitors should ring the bell and make a wish at the top of this 237-step climb. The Knights Templar are credited with building the small hermitage that sits at the top of these stairs, which overlook a section of the Basque Country’s rough, rocky coastline.

New Zealand
Astonishing beauty is one hallmark of New Zealand, and Milford Sound is no exception. You’re looking at one of the most remote areas of one of the most remote nations in the world. Notably, this country is a nuclear-free zone — no nuclear-powered or nuclear-armed ships may dock in its ports.

Thailand
Thailand is home to Buddhist temples, coral reefs and floating markets. King Rama IV ordered the construction of a 32-kilometer- long canal in 1866, which later became home to the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market. Foodies claim it’s the place to find the freshest produce around.

Alaska
Minerals stain the mountains with rainbow hues here in the Polychrome Pass in Denali National Park. Home to the highest mountain in North America, the park spans an area larger than Massachusetts.
